The parts, top to bottom

  1. Line to the rod via a strong swivel - Rig body 50-60 lb mono
  2. Top snood, 12-18 in of 15-20 lb, size 1-2 hook - Different bait to the bottom hook to cover options
  3. Bottom snood, a foot above the lead - Crimps or stop knots and beads hold the snood swivels
  4. 4-6 oz lead on a lead link at the bottom - Grip lead in a run of tide

How to fish it

Flatfish, whiting, codling and dogfish. Short casts; the baits flap on the cast, so clip down for distance.
