The parts, top to bottom
- No.13 hybrid elastic (13J)
- Loop to pole tip, 3-4 ft lash - Keeps the pole away from shallow fish. Mainline 0.19-0.22 mm
- Back shot - Keeps the line tight from tip to float while slapping
- No.1-No.3 dibber - The lighter the better
- 2 x No.10 tight under the float
- Loop-to-loop, 4-6 in hooklength - 0.16-0.18 mm
- Size 14, banded pellet

Variations worth knowing
- Deep edge: 2 g dibber, 2 back shots above the float, 2 x No.8 above the hooklength. Three separate plops.
- Preston: 4 B8 float, 3 x No.11 STS spread, 4 in hooklength, size 16 GPMB, 13J elastic, 0.20 mm mainline.
